Develop The Mental Edge!

Whether it’s school bullies, peer pressure to use drugs, dating violence or campus shooting sprees, those with the mental edge are the ones who have the best chance to make decisive and speedy decisions for self-defense!

Cho Seung-Hui, the Virginia Tech. Murderer, reportedly spent nearly 200 rounds to kill 9 people on one of his sprees.  That’s about 10 bullets per person!  This tells me that his angry, frustrated thinking was confused to the point that he couldn’t even aim straight.  Someone with the mental edge may have been able to end this rampage before it was a massacre.

When is society going to learn?

Self-defense is not a sport!

Self-defense is not teaching violence unless the instructor has no positive moral values!

Self-defense does not mean practicing Eastern Religion!

Self-defense is not only physical. It also includes  the ability to make healthy choices concerning matters such as drugs, alcohol, education, sex, violence, education, healthy  relationships, etc.

Self-defense is not being afraid of your reputation if you don’t let your popular boyfriend or girlfriend con you into sex.  And, having the ability to fight him off if he tries to rape you.

FACT:  A statewide Texas  survey of 16-24 year olds revealed that 3 out of 4 have either personally experienced dating violence or know someone who has.  (Texas Council on Family Violence)

WARNING:  Not all martial art schools teach self-defense.  Sport karate and Taekwondo is fun and can help develop the mental edge and a limited amount of self-defense.  However, complete training for date rape and other serious crimes of violence, as well as mental and emotional self-defense is taught at Passmore’s Self Defense.

For a con game alert, go to FAQ and read the yellow highlighted warning before enrolling for sport training.

Amber Hagerman

The AMBER Plan was created in 1996 as a powerful legacy to 9-year-old Amber Hagerman, a bright little girl who was kidnapped and brutally murdered while riding her bicycle in Arlington, Texas. The tragedy shocked and outraged the entire community. Residents contacted radio stations in the Dallas area and suggested they broadcast special “alerts” over the airwaves so that they could help prevent such incidents in the future.
